Ultimately our goal is to sign people into our MLM organization…obviously. So the question is, how do we go about it? Many people are looking to use an online MLM marketing system that markets their MLM company. This is ineffective.

An effective system doesn’t market your MLM company but rather it markets YOU, your value, and your leadership. The reason for this is quite simple.

People don’t join your business they join you! They join you because they like you, trust you, and most importantly feel like you or one of your upline partners can help them reach their goals. The product itself is not going to get them to their goals of financial freedom.

If everyone wanted to buy the product right off the bat then the company wouldn’t need distributors to distribute the products. Make no mistake, people join you because they like you, trust you, and see that you can help them reach their goals.

So by marketing yourself and your value WHILE building relationship with people online you create major attraction toward yourself. People like you, trust you, and see that you can help them reach their goals. The end result, they call to join you regardless of what your company is.

So let’s get into the nitty gritty of setting up your own online MLM marketing system. Keep in mind what we’re trying to accomplish.

Ongoing: Start learning the latest cutting edge marketing strategies and tried and true network marketing techniques. Learn, apply, repeat! This is SO key! You need to become genuinely valuable!

Read “How To Win Friends And Influence People”, “21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader”, “21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”, and other personal development books.

Step 1: Create your own product based off the knowledge that you have. This product will position you automatically as a leader. Make sure it’s high value and powerful.

Step 2: Create a webpage that sells the benefits of getting your product (which you are offering for free in exchange for their information). This webpage is called an optin page. Also on that page, provide a place where people can enter in their information also called the optin webform.

Step 3: Connect your email autoresponder account (like Aweber) to the optin webform on your optin page. This way when people enter in their information, their information is stored inside a list in your autoresponder account. An autoresponder account is a service that allows you to keep a list of contacts that you can mass email personally or have pre-written emails sent out at certain times that you set.

Step 4: Using your autoresponder account you’re able to keep in continuous communication via email with the people that have entered in their information in exchange for you product. These people are called leads.

Step 5: Call leads and build relationship with them once they opted in. You can use the traditional network marketing invite and invite them to meet up with you if they are close to you. If not, then just build relationship and see how you can help them and find out what they want the most.

Step 6: Keep in constant communication via email. Each email you send out should be full of value and NOT a business pitch. At the end of your email you should include your contact information and a call to action like “I teach every one of my distributors how to use the internet to generate 20 leads a day”. Step 7: Sell affiliate products to your leads regardless of whether they sign up into your company or not. Affiliate products are products you do not own but rather you earn a commission each time someone buys through your unique affiliate link.

These affiliate products you sell should be generic and valuable to every one even if they are not a distributor of yours.

The Big Picture Recap

So here’s the overall picture. You have a webpage with a webform which allows people to enter their information into it. This webpage sells the benefits of receiving this product that you have. All they have to do is enter their name, email, and phone (optional) number into the form to receive it.

You drive visitors to this webpage. Visitors read what’s on the webpage and decide they NEED to get the product you’re offering. They enter in their information into the webform and are then redirected to a page where they can get the product you are offering.

The moment they entered in their information, your autoresponder service like Aweber emails you a notification saying you just generated a lead. You call the lead and build some relationship with them i.e. “Hey [name], this is [your name] I saw that you were just on a website of mine and I just wanted to say hi. I hope you’re enjoying your training. It should definitely help you out! So tell me [name], how can I help you in your business?

What happens? Your lead is so touched that you spent the time to call them. They are impressed. They may even ask to work with you right then and there. If not, don’t worry. Using your autoresponder you stay in email contact with them. Each email is full of value and eventually they call you and say they want to work with you. You sign them up as a distributor and then help them reach their goals.

If they don’t call you, that’s okay. You still stay in email contact with them. The result? They still like and trust you. It’s just that they may be satisfied with their own company. You still make money by selling them helpful and generic affiliate products.

Now that’s what I call an effective online MLM marketing system! No more chasing people around, harassing friends and family…you know how it is. Instead people call you to join you!

For many prospects this is a make or break type of question. A lot of people who are thinking about getting started in a home based business are looking at multiple businesses at the same time and if you’re not able to tell them what makes your business different than all the rest the chances of them joining YOUR company are very low.

In order to truly answer this question well you’ll need to know a lot about not only your business but the industry of network marketing in general. If for instance you answer with something like. “Our business allows you to work from home and make as much money as you want” you are more than likely going to under whelm them that’s because basically ALL home based businesses allow both of those things.

This question doesn’t really apply to what makes your business different than a job because they’ll probably know that already. Anyone who is thinking about joining a home based business knows the differences and the upsides of what makes working from home better than a traditional job.

What they want to know is what makes your business different than other businesses of it’s kind.

Now I can’t answer this question for you because I don’t know specifically what business you’re in but I can tell you that if you do a little research and compare your company with other companies of it’s kind you’ll find a great answer there.

Maybe your business is new and gives the business owner a great opportunity to come into a business that is just starting up. Maybe the product is unlike anything else on the market today. Maybe your compensation plan gives the highest percentages of commission in the industry.

Whatever your answer is make sure that it’s A) Impressive enough to make them say “wow!” and B) truthful, if you tell a lie and they find out what you said wasn’t completely true you will lose them as a prospect forever and they’ll probably also give you negative feedback from then on out. So make sure if you’re hyping something up that it’s true and honest.

If you have a great prepared answer for this very common question you can often get the prospects attention enough for them to either get started with your business or at least pursue it further. If you don’t you might lose them to another company.

97% of people fail in network marketing because they get into it for all the wrong reasons. This is not a get rich business. If you want to earn a living in this industry you must study it.

It is amazing to me how people blame others for their failures. In this business it is all about you. It’s not about the company, your sponsor, or your up line. People join because of YOU, and only you.

If you want to be successful, then study success. If you want more money, then study money. If you want to know about business, then study business. If you want to be a doctor, then go to medical school. If you want to be a leader, then study leadership. Everything I just said is a learned skill. Any body can do it.

This is a people business. Today people are looking for leaders. We are in the problem solving business. With the state of the economy, people are looking for ways to earn extra money., And in my opinion there is no better business than network marketing.

Referral marketing is not easy, and I am not going to tell you it is. Success in any thing is not easy. If you want to be successful in life, you have to work at it.

If you don’t have 8-10 hours a week to spend in network marketing, then don’t join any company. I get so much emails from other people telling me how easy it is to become rich. I look at the subject line in my email, and just delete them.

I am telling you now, don’t listen to them. If this industry interest you, then lean about it. You will only make money in network marketing, if you work at it.

This is not a get rich fast business. It can take 1-3 years to start making money. Why do you think college is 4 years? Don’t get me wrong there are people out there, that did make money in less time. I am talking about the average person, and to the 97% that failed.

The internet is full of great information about network marketing, and a lot of the information is free.

Technology and systems have changed the way we do business today. With the technology, and systems available today, you can do this business World Wide.

The more you learn the more you earn.

The #1 Problem – Consistency

Consistency – or lack there of. To make sure I’m consistent with my marketing efforts I used a DAILY marketing schedule and I stick to this religiously. It doesn’t matter what’s going on, the sky could be falling for all I care, if it’s on my daily list, it needs to get done, PERIOD! Don’t let “how you feel” dictate your actions, your actions should be results driven. I know that doing tasks ABC will produce results XYZ…so you better believe I’m doing ABC…I’m singing the alphabet every damn morning. Consistency is the life blood to your business.

Problem #2 – Targeting

Whatever product or service you sell, think about all the potential markets you can target. Let’s take acne for example: when I think acne, I think teenager having the worst breakouts ever…but acne is not only a “teenager” issue. There are plenty if adults who struggle with acne every single day. Make sure to cater your marketing efforts to as many different niche customers as possible. If you write an article about teen acne and how you can help, than write another about adult acne and how you can help.

What I’m getting at is this: if your marketing efforts are too narrow, than you’re leaving tons of money on the table. Conversely, if your marketing is too broad, than you may be spreading yourself thin in your efforts to cater to everyone. You need understand your market and understand how to best reach them.

Problem #3 – Money

We’re not all made of money. Not all of us have a million dollar marketing budget. Knowing this, novice marketers try tons of different marketing strategies at once and their back in that (lost) mess again. Don’t go throwing crap on the wall and hoping something sticks. That’s not the way to go about it. Sit down and look at what it is that your are doing. Pick just 2 or 3 marketing methods and concentrate on these until you’ve mastered them. To the point where you’ve streamlined them. Don’t let your lack of funds stunt your business growth by trying to doing every possible strategy you can think of. Just chose a few strategies and be consistent in your efforts. When you make your first sale, roll it back into your marketing budget. Rinse and repeat and before you know it, your bringing in the cash! It was the summer of 1967 I was a freckled fiery redhead with two large teeth in front. I had a love for trees, flowers, vegetable gardens, ponds, frogs, tadpoles, animals and dirt in general. My cousin Jeff lived down the road a few houses and it didn’t take long for us to become the best neighborhood friends. Jeff had a passion for growing things, anything that he could put into the ground and water was a fun mystery to him.

Jeff and I had this crazy idea to plant seedling trees in our back yards. Ha! Ha! I will never forget the lesson I learned from this experience. I had to came up with a plan to talk with dad about using his garden to plant trees and not veggies. I was so full of ambition with bright snappy dark brown eyes and a goofy smile he just had to say, “YES” and of course he did!

Dad squared the garden with stakes and string so Jeff and I could work up the ground and get it ready for planting. It took us a couple of days with the hoe, rack and shovel, but we got the job done. Next, Jeff and I road our bikes down to the covered bridge where I was always afraid our car would fall through, because it had old wooden planks for a road. This is where we pulled up little maple seedling trees and carefully put them in a basket to take them back home.

For the next few days Jeff and I worked on planting as many trees in dads garden as possible. We had the trees all lined up in perfectly spaced rows. I had fallen completely in love with gardens and growing plants just like my cousin. With a little loving care, water, sun and dark dirt, a plant will grow…what a pure delightful mystery!

Dad sat back in his yard chair and watched all summer long as I worked the ground to keep weeds from growing. I remember digging a trench that weaved in-between every row and around the outer boarders so I could ran water down the trench with the garden hose as my irrigation system. Jeff and I watched how every seedling responded to my dedicated love for my trees. Not one of them died they all made it through the drama of getting up rooted and replanted.

By the end of the summer they had grown strong but still didn’t have much bark on their trunks. When the leaf raking season came we covered my trees with the leaves to protect them through the cold winter months. Nobody and I mean nobody walked in that corner of the yard in the winter in fear of hurting my dormant trees.

Fast forward to the summer of 1969

Yes, my beloved maple trees were still growing in the garden and I’m loving them more now than ever! My poor dad had no idea what he was getting himself into, two summers earlier when he said “yes” to a summer of tree planting. Dad never thought that it would hold my attention for half a summer let alone two more years. What I’ve learned years latter was in 1967 the natural born entrepreneur in me was already manifesting it’s self. I had vision, I could see the whole picture, I had perseverance, I had hard work ethic, I planed my work and worked my plan, I had passion the belief in myself and a God that would make all things happen when there is faith!

How did this all come to an end? Well… I’m almost to a whisper because I was not prepared for what happened. All I can remember was mom and I went shopping for a few hours on a Saturday. When we got home all my beloved maple trees ( they were 3-4 foot tall) where burnt but three, yes dad burned and destroyed my trees. Dad took the best three out of the whole bunch (I had a few dozen) and transplanted them in the back yard where two are still there to this day, (one was taken out for a swimming pool some years latter). I remember screaming and running to Jeff’s house across the neighborhood yards, I grabbed Jeff in tears asking him if there was something we could do to make them come back to life. We did try Ha! Ha! (yes I’m laughing) it was final, the trees where gone, but the experience is still with me today!

I remember telling Jeff when we were trying to doctor them back to life. “We could have sold them like a real tree farm and made some money” (an entrepreneur mindset at the age of 9) or “we could have planted each one back into the woods where they belong” (the love of giving back to mother earth). Needless to say I forgave my dad:-P and I’m so thankful he saved 3 for the back yard. If dad knew back then, what I know now, the money that would have been made from selling the trees if invested properly at the age of 9 would have set a different course of life for me and my family.

The truth is, I’m blessed beyond measure for the wealth and health that I and my family have! I thank God every morning and evening for the privilege to live a FREE life style. I am now currently building an International business that will pay forever and one day the grandkids will inherit the wealth.

This appeared like the ideal company for me as it would help folks lead healthier lives, plus, the company was stable and had been in business for over 20 years. I started selling the products from my home and then started bringing folks into the business. So as to do this I wished to find quality network marketing leads. I worked with my sponsor to find different corporations that might supply me with the leads. There are a good range of network marketing leads in a good range of costs. My business wasn’t creating a great amount of money yet so I didn’t need to buy costly leads.

It was explained to me the more expensive network marketing leads were screened more intensively and were folks that were prepared to start in a business, however it wasn’t a warranty.

These network marketing leads were too dear for me to start with, because I wasn’t comfortable talking on the phone with them yet – I was nervous! I went with more tolerably priced leads. I revealed that I liked speaking with folks from every part of the U. S. It’s not like making cold calls, as they all have opted in to learn about home business prospects. Many individuals selected not to become involved, but a few wished to hear more and try the varied products, so although in a few cases I didn’t get business partners I was still ready to retail products. My home business is a year old now.

I’ve made enough to bolster our earnings and it’s great to be home full time rather than on the road. I’m in a position to work when it fits my agenda and I’m in a position to take part in community events. It is a terrific way to live a slower paced approach to life.
